Gradient Fade Cowl
Gradient Fade Cowl
PRODUCT: hand knitting pattern for Gradient Fade cowl.
PUBLISHED: August 2017
INTRODUCTION: Colors blending in and out of each other creating new colors and possibilities, that’s what birthed the Gradient Fade Cowl. This cowl is meant for color exploration. Feel free to create different areas of color combos. Colors could be shades of one color, blending one contrast color to another, some short areas of one color and longer areas of another. The combinations are endless! The yarns picked for cowl pictured were chosen only for color purpose, not for the yarn. I made it work with the yardage amount that I had and you can do the same. I started with the Malabrigo “Worsted Merino” for Color A, then added 2nd Malabrigo “Worsted Merino” for Color B, then Color C and Color D are Malabrigo “Mecha” to follow. The thickness of the Malabrigo “Mecha” sections are slightly thicker to the “Worsted Merino” area. You can definitely mix it up however you prefer. You can use all Malabrigo “Worsted Merino” or all Malabrigo “Mecha” if you wanted. You can even use this pattern as a yarn stash buster for bits and bobs of yarns you already have. There are two sets of pattern instructions, one for the yarns I used exactly for cowl pictured. The second pattern instructions are for all even rows of the gradient transition. Feel free to use whichever instructions for your yarn selection. Enjoy making your very own Gradient Fade!
