INTRODUCTION

I love using up leftover yarn. It is one of the most gratifying things for me as a knitter to not waste a single bit of yarn. I created this design out of the desire to see single skein wonders that didn’t really have a project and leftover yarn to come together to create a cardigan that is truly one of a kind because no two scrappy cardigan will ever look the same! Enjoy the process of changing colors as you knit. You can plan out your color transitions/fade or, like I did, just switch color based on when you are ready to change it up!

CONSTRUCTION: cardigan back and front are knit flat in knit and purl texture with sewing pockets and side seams only, sleeves knit in the round in stockinette stitch.

PATTERN NOTES:

This guideline can help you find the ease that is right you!

  1. Measure around your body at the fullest/widest point.

  2. Grab one of your favorite cardigan silhouettes. Measure flat, at about 1"/ 2.5 cm below the armhole. Multiply by 2 to get the top’s circumference.

  3. (Cardigan Circumference – Widest Body Point = Ease)

If negative number, that’s negative ease. If it is a positive number, that’s positive ease.

Sample photographed in size 3 with 6”/15 cm of positive ease at chest, body length of 32”/81 cm and sleeve length of 15.5”/39 cm, cardigan sleeve circumference of 16" with 4" of positive ease on model.

Pattern has been test knitted. Pattern tech edited by Chaitanya Muralidhara. Examples of other knitters who have knit this pattern during test knit are in the Blog.

Pay What You Choose: In order to make my designs more financially accessible but still valuing the work it takes to create these patterns, I am implementing a “Pay What You Choose” model. These prices indicate the fair amount that has been put into the designs and hopefully can become a sustainable way for me to keep creating hand knitting patterns.
