Moondrake Co. Design Collab! - JUN 16, 2020 (Patreon Archive)

Anti-racism is a long-term, everyday, thing. The revisiting of trauma and constantly having to fight to be heard, is exhausting and yet the pain that Black lives have to endure in order to live is much worse than anything I'll ever have to experience. So non-Black folks must keep fighting no matter how exhausting. We must practice grace and self-care for ourselves in order to keep moving forward and showing up. So I've taken the past 2 weeks off of designing to focus on Black designers and Black yarn dyers and to feel their joy through their work and art. Because Black lives don't just matter. Black lives inspire, Black lives create and love and uplift and make beautiful things.

So here is to moving forward always towards anti-racism.

Rachelle from Moondrake Co. and I have a lot in common! Our families are from China/HK and lots of things from childhood like listening to Cantonese pop songs from the 90s. We've been working together to create this collaboration, a summer top in a Merino/Linen base. It's going to be an oversized summer tank using a main color and an accent color in the slip stitch striping. Stripes have really become my design element, I think, over the years of designing for hand knit patterns. The colorways for this color combo is "Candyland" on the left as the MC and "Juicy" on the right. It's going to be a fun one to wear with these pops of color!
