Pride Flag Knitting Chart!

I shared a blocking photo of the intersex-inclusive Pride flag I was knitting as a wall hanging on Instagram. I made up the pattern for fun for myself to celebrate Pride month but many showed interest in knitting one. So I figured I’ll share a chart of what I knit.

If you want to learn more about the intersex-inclusive Pride flag, read THIS ARTICLE.

Although this chart is free, I suggest donating to LGBTQIA+ organizations that are doing the hard work to keep queer youth safe, advocate for policies that protect queer and trans people, and provide resources for those seeking help.

Here are just a few organizations to support:

About the knitting chart below:

  • Knitting Needles: US 8/ 5.0 mm.

  • Yarn: My flag used all scrap yarn in stash, some worsted, some DK, some fingering held double.

  • Gauge: 23 sts by 27 rows in 4”/10 cm in 1x1 rib after blocking.

  • Finished measurements: 9.5”/24 cm wide by 15”/38 cm long.

  • The instructions are only in chart form.

  • The flag is knit with intarsia color work.

  • For knit stitches, 1x1 rib and some border knit/purls details are used to keep knit fabric from rolling while hanging.

  • For the circle, I used duplicate stitching after knitting. You can also knit the circle as intarsia or stranded colorwork as you like.

  • The Key for the colors and stitches is on the top right of the chart.
