On this site, you will find hand knitting patterns and a part of the journey of a design come to life.

The blog is a space to discover knitters who have been a part of Tina Tse Knits creations, whether that’s test knitting as part of the design process or a knitter who decided to knit one of the designs.

ABOUT: TINA

Tina identifies as she/her. She is a queer American-born Chinese from Queens, NY, currently living in Metro Detroit, MI, on Anishinaabe Nations Land.

Tina works on industrial knitting machines by day and creates hand knitting pattern designs by night.

She started her career in the fashion industry as a knitwear specialist, working with designers to execute their knit fabric or garment ideas. Now, she works in the sporting goods industry, developing technical textiles for non-apparel applications.

Outside of knitting, Tina is passionate about sharing her experiences as an Asian American and advocate for diverse representation of Asian identity. Please follow her on Instagram @tina.say.knits and subscribe to her Patreon for more on her design processes and other work beyond knitting.

POLICIES

First and foremost, all Black Lives Matter. Tina Tse Knits firmly believes that there is no separation from creation to moral values. Even as a small business operated by one person, Tina is dedicated to working with, collaborating with, and designing with businesses and individuals who share the same values. Tina is strongly against any hate, including racism, anti-blackness, fatphobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, against marginalized groups.

Yarn dyers that Tina Tse Knits have collaborated with directly are linked to their websites in the Pattern Shop per pattern design. Any collaborator not linked were not worked with directly or have been discontinued. Yarn used might have been personally purchased out of pocket from what was available at the time.
